I literally used to get teared up at the Proactiv commercials watching all the people suffering from it because I understand the pain of it all too well!!!
I had it for years and for a long time got it under control via artificial hormones which I knew were not good at all and I never wanted to be on them, but being in my twenties and working and still having bad acne, it was affecting my self image so badly that I decided to pray for The Lord’s protection and do it. I was desperate for it to go away. I tried multiple times in my thirties to get off the hormones but the acne always came right back. Then in my low forties I was having physical issues from caregiver stress and knew I needed to get off them for good to get myself completely healthy, but did not want to be in my forties and having acne.😫😫 I saw a naturopath and he said “A lot of people with acne are low in vitamin A and zinc” and he gave me pills with a high dose of both, and within about 4-6 months it was gone for good, even after he weaned me off that vitamin pill!!! I couldn’t believe it - after all those years of suffering and trying all kinds of stuff. I tried everything but Acutane. I even got glycolic acid skin peels for a long time in my twenties and thirties which helped a lot and helped get rid of most of my scarring, but never addressed the root of it.
You’re right - it sucks bigtime and unless you’ve dealt with the pain of such horrible embarrassment that you don’t even want to walk out of the house, I don’t think it’s possible for people to really understand it.
It’s a very very difficult and humbling thing but one that also develops a lot of compassion for the emotional suffering of others. I haven’t heard too much of your podcast yet but hope to soon!!
I think I had maybe half a dozen acne pimples in My life, and am so sad for the Ones who suffered greatly. Love always!
Yes. You are lucky.
Is There a Purpose for Suffering?
“We had the sentence of death in ourselves, so that we would not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead.”
— 2 Corinthians 1:9 🙏🏻
We have an opportunity to learn.
WHICH SADLY IS TAKEN FOR GRANTED
True.
Agreed - it’s a bummer.
Yes. It sucks. I hope others can avoid this experience.
