What is a bummer is the dancer for the inspiration for this film, lost an appeal for royalties in 2006. https://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/SAN-FRANCISCO-Inspiration-for-Flashdance-2517110.php

Wow, I did not know that backstory. I am trying to share movies with heart, spirit and a positive outcome, inspirational even. We need a break from the dark searching for truth, I know I do. Keeps me sane.

This is exactly what happened to the movie Slumdog Millionaire.

The boy whom the movie was about ended up broke.

His family lost their home (destroyed and all their money).

Now you know why I hate Hollywood and grateful it has lost it's magic.

Peace.

A better movie (also with Irene Cara) that has heart and has dance is the musical Fame (1980.)

Ive seen this movie in its original format. It may not have evil ‘showing,’ but, I was embarrassed watching that film. God was speaking directly to me.

The subtle (and not so subtle) nuances were raising goose bumps watching her father’s wimpish fall into his newly constructed by outside of his own private family’s, new structure-place.

My father would have parentally and correctly intervened .

The USA, in general, has lost its moral compass. The protagonist as an individual raised on Christian morals, chooses to dance for a living, rejects dancing in the raunchy sex clubs and helps her friend leave that scene. Resolving conflicts is what the characters are doing, rejecting the darkness and looking for a good path.
